My next photography workshop will be held on Saturday 26th November, 2016 in Hinckley. We will explore close up photography with a variety of natural objects including plants, flowers, seed pods and feathers. The workshop will cover technical aspects such as use of gear and lighting as well as artistic aspects including composition and post processing. You will leave with an understanding of how to capture the image you want, no matter how crisp or soft you envisage. Groups are limited to a maximum of five students to make sure you have plenty of personal attention and time to have your questions answered.
I have taught art, design, photography and printmaking workshops to adults and children of all ages and abilities since 1992. During this workshop, I will help you to understand your camera settings for close up photography, we will look at different lighting scenarios found in nature and use reflectors, diffusers and artificial light.
There is more to photographic composition than the rule of thirds and leading lines, we will look how to compose images like an artist by considering design elements. At the end of the day, I shall give a demonstration on post processing. This workshop is suitable for beginner to advanced photographers. You will need an understanding of your camera's controls, alternatively, you may borrow one for the day. If you are unsure, please phone to discuss your camera. I will also have cameras available for people to use on the day if you don't have one of your own or don't have a good enough understanding of how to use yours. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided, participants are asked to bring their own lunch.
