Chantelle Meyers is a twenty year old ballerina who began dancing at the age of two. She has always been devoted to classical ballet and dancing in Europe and Paris in particular. She has recently returned from her second tour of Germany with a French ballet company and plans to return to Europe in the near future.
These artworks combine elements of the history of Paris with classical ballet. While ballet is steeped in history, it is an ever-evolving art form and like the city of Paris embraces the contemporary world. There is a contrast between the age and heaviness of the architecture and the lightness of the birds. Even a young dancer has spent a huge proportion of their life training and practicing their craft, yet, they survive by holding onto their dream to dance on the great stages of the world, they have to work their muscles hard in order to appear to fly effortlessly.
