A Guide to Art & Photography for the Home Gym
Perhaps you have a dedicated room or just a small area with a cross trainer or exercise mat and weights. Whatever the space you have set aside at home to work-out in, you want it to be your personal oasis of motivation.
Your choice of imagery and colour palette will depend on how active you are in the space and what kind of exercise you do. Generally, the more active the stronger and brighter your pictures can be and if you prefer gentle yoga or meditation, then a softer palette and serene images are best suited.
Colour palette options to consider for artwork for the Home Gym:
White - fresh, cool and youthful, stick to cooler tones.
Black - bold and powerful, can work here depending on your use of the area.
Earths - healing and grounding also good for meditation areas.
Blue - refreshing and productive.
Green - fresh and cheerful.
Orange - excellent choice, very energetic, motivating and powerful.
Red - another suitable option for a high energy exercise room with its intense stimulating qualities.
Neutral - peaceful and balanced, good for yoga or meditation rooms.
Pink - joyful and suitable for a place where you practice gentle exercise.
Purple - soft and deep tones for yoga, gentle dance or meditation, bright tones work for active exercise.
Yellow - an energetic colour, but with negative effects such as anger and frustration.
Grey - lacks energy for an exercise room.
